Archives Project 2020
»Covers for Photo Collection«
What will be done?
With the Archives Project 2020 the Photo Collection of the Unity Archives on “Mission” is to be repackaged into PAT proved paper. The collection includes photos from South Africa, East Africa, Suriname, Nicaragua, Honduras, West Indies, Brazil, the Himalayas, Labrador, Alaska, Greenland, Jerusalem and Ramallah and was housed in the Archives' attic in conventional boxes and envelopes for many years. After the photos were put into our air-conditioned storeroom building in 2016, the next step is to repackage them in acid-free photosleeves.
What do we need?
We need approved photo-sleeves in various formats. The repacking itself is carried out by the employees of the Archives. We need a total of approximately € 2,000 to purchase materials. If the project brings in more than 2,000 € we will use the excess funds for other insufficiently packaged parts of the photo collection. We would like to ask you for a donation for our project! Help preserve the visual legacy of the mission work of the Moravian Church. Naturally a receipt is provided upon request, simply provide your postal address.
