With an annual Archives Project, we draw your attention to specific concerns of the Unity Archives. To finance these specific tasks, donations are collected annually. In the past, this included for instance repackaging measures, restoration of books and a large-format painting. In addition, further funding projects were launched, which especially serve to preserve the archival holdings. Since the school year 2021/22, the Unity Archives have been working together with the Evangelische Zinzendorfschulen Herrnhut on an archival educational project in the form of an extra-curricular activity or all ages. You are welcome to find out more about current and past projects on this page.

Under the theme »Doors into the World«, an archival educational project has been started from the school year 2021/2022 in the form of an extra-curricular activity for pupils of all ages. All classrooms in the school have been named after Moravian places. Based on these placenames the pupils go on a search for traces from the past and the present outside of school in Herrnhut and, in particular, in the Unity Archives. This project was continued in the school years 2022/23 and 2023/24.

Since December 2020 the Unity Archives have been working together with the State Program of Digitalisation for Science and Culture of the Free State of Saxony (LDP) for the digitalisation and online publication of the Congreational Accounts 1765-1818. This is being done in stages and is expected to be completed in 2024. The digitized handwritten volumes will at the same time be made accessible online and can be studied via sachsen.digital. The printed journal "Nachrichten aus der Brüdergemeine 1819 - 1894", which was published after the Congregational Accounts, has been digitized at the Memorial University of Newfoundland and can also be studied online.
