What is to be done?

In Herrnhut's anniversary year, we would like to focus on the museum collection of the Unity Archives with the Archives' project 2022. We want to protect objects that have survived from Herrnhut's 300-year history in the holdings of the Unity Archives and pack them in a way that is suitable for archiving. The collection comprises over 1,000 objects, including sisters' bonnets, boxes with written sayings, lacqued trays, love feast cockery, Holy Communion chalices, architectural and building models, busts and more.

What do we need donations for?

For the entire collection we would like to purchase appropriate archival boxes, as well as, dividers. A sum of about 2,000 € is needed for this. Furthermore, for particularly delicate objects, additional custom-fit cardboard inlays are to be made. For 20 objects, a sum of about 3,000 € is needed. Should more money be collected, we would safely pack an additional 40 objects made of fragile glass or porcelain in the same manner or will be used for further conservation work in the Unity Archives.
